Studying vocabulary is one of the most effective ways to improve an ISEE score. Many parents and students search for a list of the most common ISEE vocabulary words to study. It may be frustrating to know that the companies who create these exams do not provide an official vocabulary word list to study. This means that every English word in the dictionary has a possibility of appearing on the test. How do you know which words to focus on?
There are many vocabulary lists available on the internet. It is important to check to see if they are coming from a reliable resource. Anyone can make a word list and post it on the internet, but you want to find one created by people who are experienced with the ISEE and are familiar with the content on this test. Students lead busy lives and we want to make sure we provide them with the most effective resources to study from so they are not wasting their own time. This is why I have created a word list that includes the top 100 most common ISEE vocabulary words.
As an ISEE and SSAT teacher with over 10 years of experience, I have seen many versions of these tests and am familiar with the types of words that typically show up on the verbal reasoning section. I understand that it may be difficult to study thousands of words in such a short amount of time. I have seen students become frustrated with the amount of words they need to study from word lists that contain too many vocabulary words, which often results in students giving up studying vocabulary all together. This is not helpful or effective.
This is why I created a word list of the top 100 most common ISEE vocabulary words. My vocabulary list provides an extensive collection of the most common vocabulary words to study but not too many that students become overwhelmed. By studying these words, students will be better prepared to tackle the verbal reasoning section of the ISEE.
